Co-Cr-Mo (CCM) alloy is a kind of alloy commonly used in orthopedic implants. It doesn’t contain Ni element which can cause allergy or even cancer. It has high strength, superior corrosion resistance, non-magnetic property and excellent biocompatibility. E-beam 3D printing plays an important role in the development of computer-aided design medical implants, and there is a wide range of implant customization needs based on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging technologies.
The properties of powder layer are very important for process stability and material properties. Based on the previous CCM development experience, aiming at the problem that the Y150 equipment CCM printing is prone to powder blowing, which leads to printing failure, the production technology department explored the powder treatment, powder bed process and melting process, and preliminarily obtained the solid and porous stable forming process of CCM.(The Production Technology Departmen of Guangzhou Sailong/ Lin Huixian)
